When Does the damn vtec kick in???????

Our VTEC kicks in around 3100 RPM at the highest, I know this because I have an indicator light connected to the ECU. This is a DIY on this site to do it.

ALOT LESS NOTICEABLE ON YOUR CAR.

OIL PRESSURE CAN AFFECT V-TEC PERFORMANCE BUT THIS WILL ALSO CUSE A CHECK ENGINE LAMP.

I have a 03 Ex and it seems like 3200 rpm sounds about right, which in my opinion is kind of stupid since the car doesn't have a 6th gear. I commute 100km on the highway everyday and since I'm doing about 120km/h I'm hitting vtec for 100km straight. I noticed that the mileage I get kinda sucks because of that. I really wish I had a 6th gear.

Vtec kicks in at 5600 rpms in my EM1. It depends on what year/model vic you've got.

Fail on my part too! LOL, when its at the top of the new threads I completely disregard the date.... On a flip note, never thought of a light for my VTEC, might spend a bit of time and put one on Nice to be back in school and on spring break. A vacation w/o worrying about the work piling up while at work while gone is nice...

Fluid? What fluid? I didn't know VTEC depends on a fluid...



And our car's VTEC is not 3-stage... been discussed quite a bit on this site. Only some of the overseas Civics currently have 3-stage, and it's in a 1.5 L engine.
If the engine is cold the vtec wont kick in. So in that case the oil isn't hot enough to activate the vtec. Thats what i know and you have to be going at a certain miles as well. 50-60 mph.
