2000 ex Won't start
2000 ex Won't start
Hey guys so I'm having problems with my 2000 ex single overhead cam. The other day I was driving down the freeway and it started jerking really bad and then completely died. Luckily I had triple A and they towed it home. It cranks but won't fire. I checked the fuel pump it humms a little and I attached a hose where the fuel filter would go and got a ton of gas so that works. I installed a new fuel filter. Still no fire. So I pulled the spark plugs set them all on the exhaust shield and cranked it and they all have spark. So I have spark and fuel. Is there a censor or something that may have gone out? It just cranks and cranks but won't fire.
Thanks for any help.
Mike

Exact same thing happen to me, shuttered on highway, then died. Plenty of fuel, spark, new dist cap, rotor, good ignitor, still can't get it running, timing belt was less the 2 months old and still attached ok. Not sure what to do next, been parked for a couple of weeks. Thinking about checking timing marks, looks like a big job though. U have any luck?

Well I did connect and odbc reader, got no codes, but did get input from cam sensor when it was turning over, bar graph went up and down.etc, not sure if there is more then one, if within range. After it died it ran for about a second, never ran again.

Update
Well I decided to try a "new" coil pack from eBay for 14 bucks, I had spark, and same resistance as the autozone ones, but did notice Raimbo heat mark on plastic so decided to give it a try, and to my surprise after a lot of turning the car turned on. I immediately got a p0335 light, I drove it a while, and reset, hasn't come up yet, car still hesitation when I stomp it but seems to get better, starts quicker and quicker, no stalls from a stop light. Still sputter when I stomp though, I a guessing maybe the cheap coil I bought? Looking for an oem.
