How do I remove this aftermarket shift ****?

2000 Civic DX Automatic.

100% stock except this damn shift ****.
There's no visible set-screw, and the entire **** wobbles. I tried using excessive force and twisting it. What the hell!!

It looks like it has a bottom collar, does that slide down?

What does that pushbutton on the top do?

Re: How do I remove this aftermarket shift ****?

Sorry guys, the shaft is one piece and actually moves freely.
I was talking to my one friend and he says it sounds like the previous owner glued the button on. I'm thinking he's right unfortunately.

I've noticed some fiction in shifting gears especially in and out of park.
2, 3, D, N and R seems to move pretty freely.
I read that it could be the shifter cable?
