Is the A pipe buzz for civics as well ?

99 honda civic ex auto trans. Is the A pipe buzz that happens in integras also the same for my car? i have a new stock muffler (changed it twice still buzzes) and a dc header (came with the car) and new cat, and i get the loud buzzing sound from 1200- 3000 rpms... Does this header have the pipe inside a pipe ? or is it a different pipe im looking for , for that? All exhaust hangers are new and the clearances are fine. The cat heat shield is not buzzing under load its been checked by 5 different places. One place cut each piece at a time (muffler, then cat,) then when they got to the header they said the header was the cause of the loud buzz. It was so loud though, i couldnt tell if it was buzzing anymore... any ideas??? I know this topics been beaten to death but with having new stuff installed and still the buzz im lost.. The muffler i put on is stock... there is no resonator either... every place tells me a resonator wont help, true or not? Its a metal on metal sounding buzz so i assume this A pipe thing is to blame?

most honda downpipes have a pipe within a pipe, yes. i ended up ripping out all my heatshields (there were 4 i think) and most were buzzing due to rusted bolts being loose.

So are you guys running a resonator? my buzz is only on acceleration. After that its smooth and quiet while moving.... I like quietness. Thats what i want. I now also hear a gurgle sound in idle ,in drive, and super low rpms ! since its gotten cold. Its definitely coming from the back of the new muffler , sounds horrid ! any ideas there??

My Civic would buzz or hum around 2000 rpms. It actually sounded cool....until I went to the car wash. Once the water hit where the noise was coming from, every time I shifted, it sounded like something getting squished . Mine turned out to be a resonator.

So gearbox; if my heat shield looks fine, and not hanging, and the bolts aren't rusted and tight, doesn't this rule out the possibility? I see only one heat shield on my car. Which is under my cat. The header doesn't have any. And where would the rest be ?

you may have a small exhaust leak too. that donut gasket is hard to get it sealed properly.

Re: Is the A pipe buzz for civics as well ?

I found the gurgle vibration sound is the new muffler vibrating off "something" on the bottom of the car yet i cant see it. With the car in idle i can hear it in the trunk BAD, so i got out pushed down on muffler and it stops. What could it be? 5 shops now and no one can figure it out.. Does this sound an internal muffler problem ? Theres plenty of clearance. I dont see it vibrating on the undercarriage of the car. What else would it be vibrating off? its own hanger? (it was re-welded) Same **** happens.
