Parking Break question

my parking break button sticks and stays in even after i disengage it so therefore it leaves me giving the lever a hard smack and it pops back out to where it was i just want to know if anyone else has had this problem and what they did to fix it. i mean i could prob fix it myself im just trying to save time when taking the assembly apart because i also need to drive my car the next day. lol i have a 97 civic

Re: Parking Break question

I would try spraying a water based cleaner on button and in the opening around the button, then work it back and forth. Worth a try.

Re: Parking Break question

ive got the same issue with a 96, but it has slowly worked its way in so far that i need to use a pen to push INTO the hole, then it will push the button to release the parking brake!! i dont know how to fix this issue without taking the assembly apart... any help would definitely be appreciated. its not an issue of the button getting stuck - its like the spring has compressed or something...
