in the spring i want to lower my 01 civic sedan (preferably on full adjustable coil overs) from my little understanding of suspension set ups i will need the full coil overs and since i want to go at least 2inches lower i will need a camber kit.

i would also like to stiffen up the suspension, what is the best bang for my buck i can get in the way of sway bars and/or rear lower tie bars, i have heard that on our 7th gens you can't install both, is this true?


any suggestions on set ups would be great!!

as far as suggestions go.. I'm personally a fan of tein suspensions, and they apparently re-vamped the BASIC coilover, and made the street basis.. that's where I heard about the new coilovers. Those are adjustable height but not dampering.

As far as "bang for buck" upgrades, you can't go wrong with an RSX 19mm rear sway bar. Since you have an lx (which, don't come with a stock rear sway bar, if my memory serves me correctly), you're gonna have to install endlink mounts. I'm not too sure about the ins and outs of adding a sway bar on an LX, but I'm sure you can find it easily or someone will chime in.

Also, the neuspeed front upper strut bar is one of the best out there. I heard they discontinued them, but it still shows up on their website.

tie bars will stiffen chassis, not suspension, so low priority there.
coilovers will stiffen the suspension by spring rates and higher damping.
don't get front sway, stock is good enough already. rear sway is what a FWD needs.

^for our civics, progress coilovers is FAR FAR behind KW, tein (flex or ss), even koni/GC


if u want the "best suspension setup" go with the KW...but ur gonna be spending 2k on it.

if u are not doing autoX, then it is almost (subjective) a waste of $$$$ unless u have too much disposable income.

far far behind tien my *** what you think just because tien is damper adjustable its a better overall product. and far far behind koni/GC i don't think you know what your on about.
