Question Passenger window goes up but not down

I have a 2-door 2004 civic.

The driver side window switch can raise and lower both the driver side window, and the passenger side window. No problem here.

The passenger side window cannot lower the window, but it can raise it if its been lowered from the driver's side.

I tested the passenger side switch, and all the states appear correct, so this is not the issue. I checked the fuses, and they are fine as well.

To me it seems like the child safety switch is not releasing somehow, or shorted...something like that. I've tried pressing and releasing the child safety button a bunch of times, but no luck.

I'm sure I probably just have to replace the window master switch.

Anyone ever have this issue? Any ideas what the issue could be, or how I can troubleshoot this?

Thanks

sounds like passenger switch to me. if the driver master switch works, there is no reason to replace it. and if the child lock thing was on, none of the buttons would work.

So if the child lock is on, then the passenger cannot even raise the window if it's already down? I wasn't sure.

I was assuming that since the Window Master Switch contains the circuit board that also appears to control the child safety button, that this must have gotten screwed up somehow.

I tested all the pins on the passenger switch and all appeared ok. Now you have me second guessing myself. I will try to test them again.

Re: Passenger window goes up but not down

The safety switch will inhibit both driver and passenger switches from moving the window up or down. Only the drivers window works when safety switch on.

I would try measuring voltage to the motor.
