Winter Savings

Here are my plans after winter. My car is stock for now except windows. I plan on getting a Tsudo Exhaust, Eibach Sportline Springs, AEM Cold Air intake, Not sure about the side, front, or rear skirts. For the sideskirts I was thinking the Skyline R34. Also 17" Black Rims with Red lip and Yokohama Summer Tires. I'm cutting cost on the rims and tires a little. Here is what my car looks like now. Hopefully it will look completely different after all the changes. I have posted pics before. This is also my first tuner car so I am open to suggestions. The Rims I want

Re: Winter Savings

everything sounds good...except im not really feeling the rims. i think your car would look better with rims that had a few more spokes instead of 5. maybe 7 or so...but if you like them thats all that matters. you said you were trying to cut costs...what is that rim/tire package going to cost you in total as it is? maybe we can help you get something you like a bit better for the same price.

keep the updates posted.

Re: Winter Savings

I actually like the rims with 5 spokes better I could get rims and tires for 300 from a friend but I didn't like a lok of spokes. This package is going to cost me $856.00 for 4 rims and tires on tirerack.com

Re: Winter Savings

856? oh thats not bad at all. that works. thats all that matters anyway, as long as you like them. everything else youve said sounds pretty good.

i myself have a tsudo N1 catback too and i love it...there was a post thats probably still fresh up on the board where everyone was debating it...but i love it.

do you specifically want an aem cai? have you thought about a short ram intake instead? injen and aem both make those too and i know theres another one on the market thats cheaper than both but looks like great quality thats called HPS...ive read good things about it too.

anyway, do you have or are you getting a stereo system put in? you definitely need one of those, even if its not a huge system...mine is kind of small too.

ever thought of an hid kit too?

Re: Winter Savings

I will probably but a little system in but for better sound quality with a little bump. The AEM CAI I'm pretty set on. I was going to go with the V2 but in the end I decided to go with the CAI. Is the HID kit lighting? Like I said I'm new to this. I did find some driving lights on procivic.com I want. The things I mentioned earlier are things I definitely plan on getting this winter. After that I will mess around with a few other things. I want to eventually put a K20 in a few years down the road. My friend just put a 350 in his truck and then I was reading about the K20s and if I still have the car those are my plans but thats me dreaming. It may come true.

Re: Winter Savings

an HID kit is a headlighting system, yes. right now your factory harness connects to a bulb thats in your headlight unit and thats where you get light. in an hid kit, your factory harness connects to a wire that is connected to a ballast. then another wire coming from the ballast plugs into a different type of bulb that you put inside of your headlight unit. thats basically what an hid kit is. your factory harness sends power into the ballast, which amplifies it, then discharges it into the new type of bulb which also burns way brighter. its what you see in the higher class cars. you can also pick different colours.

Re: Winter Savings

you can get kits starting at about 100$ shipped. they are a lot cheaper now than they used to be due to the huge increase in the number of companies that actually make them. they all pretty much have the same design so everyone has to now compete to sell them. you can get good ones for around 150$ shipped, thats what i got and ive had mine installed with not a single problem for almost 3 years now...well over 2.

Re: Winter Savings

well "legally" you can get pulled over for ANY lighting that isnt stock on your vehicle. even if you dont put an hid kit, and you change your regular bulbs to brighter ones that are xenon for example...even that can get you pulled over by law. cops dont ever really bother anyone unless they have an hid kit installed that does two things...one is blind people because you have the headlights aimed up too high, and two...having way too much colour in your lights. if that was the case, i would pull you over if i was a cop too.

if you stay between the 4000k (white), 6000k (diamond white), 8000k (iceberg blue) range when you pick your colours out, and you aim them properly, i doubt a cop would ever even look in your direction, let alone pull you over.

its when you start getting into the 10 000k brilliant blue and 12 000k violet purple colours, start aiming your lights high, and just being a general jerk with your hid system, that gets the bad attention from the cops.
