I'm in the process or putting one on. I cant get the darn bolt off tho. I put 125 ft/lbs of torque to it and the sucker didn't come off. I talked to my neighbor that used to build sand buggy's and he said that its probably got more then that anyways..... Now I need to find out who has a compressor w/ like 200psi so I can get the thing off.

I ordered the manual for the civic's and It should be here anytime. I cant wait to find the torgue spec on that bolt.

you might want to try puting penatrating oil on it, then using a wrench or socket with a long piece of pipe on the end

It shouldn't matter what gear your in. Like bickford05 said try some WD40, let it soak in and then try with a socket and put a pipe at the end to extend the handle to give you extra leverage.

I read somewhere recently that if the bolt is stuck, try heating it w/ a propane torch (can get one in hardware store of HDepot for $20), then immediately hit it w/ your socket or a air gun...it should come off. Also, be sure your'e turning it the right direction!

i wouldnt do that...heating the bolt can weaken it...that could be bad news...i am planning on installing an underdrive pulley next week using my uncles big *** impact (600ftlbs in reverse) i'm sure it will break it loose

No, the thread I was reading the guy was talking about just a few seconds of heat, not long extended heat.

If anyone is interested in how much of a bitch getting the bolt off can be, read this thread, it's friggin scary...:
