its hard to say, no matter what you get, its still just an alarm. i suggest you get lojack (if you have enough money to pay 50 or so bucks a month) if someone wants to break in your car, they'll find ways to.
the club!! lol something cheep i use, just to make noise, but still the damage your baby will suffer if someone was to get nuts!! or try the fuel cutt-off DIY, i think thats cool! but its jus me
Most of the alarms out there are made by the same Company, D.E.I. so they are all going to give you about the same results, I got all of my stuff on my alarm installed for under 400 and thats the alarm, remote start, and keyless entry, and when somebody tries to mess with my car its pretty aparent.. and if you want extra security you can mount a siren inside of your car as well that way whoever tries to get inside your car wont be able to hear!! you can get motion sensors so that if anybody tries to come close to your car they are warned away and then your alarm is triggered if they contine to stay close to your car... go to best buy or some other place that sells alarms and they should be able to give you answers to whatever you've got.

GET THE MOTION SENSOR for sure!!! for sure!! its awsome. if you have a reg alarm its too late when the window is already broken, motion sensor warns em before it even happens!!! GET THE MOTION SENSOR FOR SURE!!! just my .02

All alarms can be bypassed with ease, all they're good for is discouragement which isn't all that much these days. So, IMHO just get one with convenience features you like and add on stuff on top of the alarm like an Autolock or hoodlocks. Here's my setup, its complex but after my friends car got jacked twice I took steps. Also, keep in mind that I had hookups to get my parts cheap and installed free since this setup can run you over $1000 easy (I only paid for parts)...
1. Viper 880xp (got for paging features)
2. Second Siren w/ backup battery
3. Third Siren (piezo in car)
4. Glass sensor (didn't get a motion sensor since to me it just entices people to f*$k w/ your car due to annoyance factor)
5. Hood lock w/ engine disable separate from Alarm (welded attachments to hood)
6. Autolock X for clutch peddle protection (can't press in clutch = can't start car)
7. Starlocks (replaces key locks in door handles - prevents Jimmying locks from window or keyhole itself)
8. McGuard and Gorilla locks for rims
This setup still isn't full proof, nothing is, except maybe lojack (but a monthly fee, screw that). It does however make it extremely difficult to steal the car.
Total Cost = $700 (cheap parts from friends and installed myself w/ friends, otherwise probably cost at least $1500+)
Yeah, I'm paranoid, but I like peace of mind for my sake.
