How to get wires through firewall?
Well, here is my oh ****, I suck at wiring thread.
I have my oil gauges, I have my custom panel built, I know where it all goes, now of course I need to wire it all together.
So here goes....
1. I have found several places where wire goes through the firewall. All are sealed, all are seemingly inaccessable from the inside. Is there a pass through that it is possible to access from both the inside and under the hood?
2. I have all wire sources accounted for with the exception of one for the dash lights (so the gauge lights work). Where among the 100's of wires in there can I find one that turns the dash lights on and off?
3. Sort of mechanical... what is the thread form of the port for the pressure switch in the block?
That is all. If I think of any more, I'll post them. If anyone thinks there is more useful knowledge about doing this... say so.
Oh BTW... I'm going to do this tomorrow with a digicam handy... So there will hopefully be enough for a DIY when I'm done (provided it works right)

There should be little rubber gromets in the floor and area around the feet that you could get the wires through.
- I stuck my amp wire for my first system through a rubber grommet on the passenger side. From inside the car, just pull back the carpet a little ways. From the engine bay, its on the passenger side to the left of the throttle body by a cluster of wires back there. I did have to rip the grommet just a tiny bit to stick the wires through. When I got my 2nd system installed professionally, they stuck the amp wire through a hole on the driver's side, I have no idea where.... hope this helps a little
Use a straightened coat hanger to push a hole throught he rubber grommet, attach the wires, and then pull it back through. Worked fairly well for me, just make sure the wires are secured to the coat hanger or they won't go all the way through.
Good Luck!

And just in case anyone wants to know the answer to Question 2.... Remove the gauge cluster. Do not unhook anything, just run a wire tap into the red/black stripe wire in the middle of the blue connector plug... That controls the dash lights.
