new axel shaft, clicking in turn

I had a balljoint snap a week ago taking the passengers side shaft with it. New balljoint and shaft installed trouble free except when the wheel is turned to the stop, there is a marble in a tin can sound when turning to the left.

does it sound like the new shaft is bad? I really dont want to take the time to replace it again, but if it saves me from being stranded again....

is there anything else it might be?

Mine was clicking during stop and go, which was the axle nut had to be retorqued. You may want to try that, if thats not it I would guess the new one is no good.
