Rep Power: 0 2005 clicking sound - brakes or suspension?
Just bought a 2005 LX coupe. It runs nice and quiet, except a light clicking sound when turning left. It sounds like it's clicking at each wheel revolution but I might be wrong.
I searched and found shock mount bearings, lower control arm bushings.... but nothing that sounds like it might be tied to each wheel revolution.
But what do I know? (answer: not a lot) Any thoughts are appreciated.
NB: We just had all 4 sway bar bushings changed, in case those are possible noise culprits

Damn
I had CV joints go on a couple of GM cars many years ago. I didn't recall their clicking so uniformly but that would make sense.
Funny, the very first thing I did when I inspected the car was to drive in circles at full steering lock in both directions. It doesn't do it (make the clicking sound) at low parking lot speeds but it does while going around a corner at normal speed.
Thanks

Brand new CVs from any box store are ~$75 now, don't know about the dealer if you want to go OEM, they aren't hard to change if you have access to air tools. The axle nut is a pain in butt without.. If you are looking for a Gen 7, 2005 is the year to go for, they have most of the plagues of the earlier ones fixed...

That's good to hear and makes sense, since it's the last year of the generation
Been looking here and on youtube but I must be doing something wrong. Is there a decent step by step DIY for both sides? I saw that a 37mm with a breaker bar would suffice for the axle nut, in lieu of air tools.
And if I do DIY, will there be an alignment required after?

It's a 32mm or 1-1/4" for the axle nut. I got mine off with a 6ft pipe and 1/2" drive wrench. Keep the car on the ground and remove the center cap from the wheel. Bust the axle nut loose and then proceed to do the job.
You will need a ball joint seperator which you can buy from Harbor Freight for $20
