Intermittent no start

98 Civic LX
replaced main relay recently for no start issue. Car ran great for a month or so. While driving, check engine light somes on. Get it home to garage and as I suspected, not start until it sits for 10+ minutes. Car finally starts roughly and smooths out, check engine light is out now and starting normally.
I can hear the fuel pump prime and the main relay click and turn engine light out. Everything seems normal now.

295K miles. I inherited this car probably for this reason. Not my everyday driver. New distributor, plugs, wires by previous owner.

Check for codes anyway.

It has a memory.
Most fault info is stored for a period of time even though the light went out.
Length of time stored may depend on the fault code.
Battery disconnect will erase stored info.

Re: Intermittent no start

Code is P0118

295k
water pump, belt, coolant changed at 293k
light comes on after driving 1/2 mile today, came home shut it down, light out. starts normally.

Temp sensor under the distributor is not leaking, wire is solid.

I'd probably replace the sensor anyway.
You have two temperature sensors under the distributor. One is for the gauge, the other is for the computer. Make sure you replace the sensor for the computer. Two wires on it.

Re: Intermittent no start

I was wondering about the two sensors there.

Thanks.
