SRS Light Problems
SRS Light Problems
Recently my SRS light came on so I did a search and found something interesting on a thread started in 2005 (so i couldnt reply or directly quote the person who said this)
Animosity says
"Im a mechanic for honda, we get this alot, most of the time a low battery can cause it to come on..."
I remember resetting my SRS light before I got a new battery because it came on (SRS came back on a few days later), but I have yet to try it out after I got a new battery. Just trying to verify/confim if this has happened to anyone.
Anyhow I was just curious, and after reading this I guess I'll try the SRS reset trick again in the morning.

mine has been on for sooooo long, i cant even remember when i noticed it. i disconnected the driver airbag when i replaced my turn signal switch (did it myself before i knew there was a recall), but i think it was even on before that. still pisses me off when i see it but i dont want to take it to honda and get raped to find out why its on.
If you disconnected the plug under your seat then reconnected it with the battery still in, then I can see why your SRS light is on.
There is a DIY on how to reset your SRS light and all you need is a paperclip and probably a friend to look at the dash light so you can concentrate on the paperclip method. It's really quite simple and unless you have a true problem with your SRS system then the light should go out.
I've swaped out my seats with EP3 seats before and had the SRS light come on and all I had to do was the quick SRS RESET DIY. Anyhow, I was just wondering if a low car battery also triggers it (see original post).

mine comes on once in a while and then it goes off. Im wondering if theres a short in it somewhere. And I have a brand new battery and it comes on at least once a month. Its not on for long but it still comes on. Anybody have a suggestion?
lol go to honda? or buy the part from H&A to reset it the proper way like me beacause its always on for me and my moms a bitch and dosent like it when she sees lights on my cluster other than turn signal s

Trust me. I've done the DIY before with the paperclip. If you take a look at the part you got to reset the SRS light you'll notice that it's just a wire that goes into the correct pin holes. This makes it easier for you to connect and disconnect it to the connector on your car.
The plug just completes a circuit with the connector, but you can do the same with a paperclip, piece of metal, piece of wire, etc. People say use a paperclip because it's metal and you can easily shape it into a "U" shape so you can hit the pins on the connector coming from you car. It's just a little more tedious to use a paperclip, but whatever saves me a buck or two these days is worth it (gas is crazy expensive even for my little 4 banger).
mine has been on forever....it doesn't matter but i heard if you put something heavy on your seat and don't buckle the seatbelt it comes on....also if yo d/c your seat and leave it d/c.

I took out my rsx seats the a month ago and when I put them back, that damn srs light wont go away. Ive done the paper clip trick before, but this time it dosent seem to work. I follow the DIY. but the blinking (signifying the erasing of the srs) happens like on the second try and then the light stays on after the blinking. Any help?
