Removing Front Bumper... Airbag Danger?

I just bought some TYC black projectors for my 2003 LX sedan. I know I'm going to have to take my bumper off to do the installation. I've found the great DIY on removing the bumper and clearing the headlights, but there was no information on whether or not the airbag sensors are located in the bumper.

I definitely do not want to screw my airbags ($2500) over a $175 pair of headlights.

The DIY said that the guy dropped his bumper, so I guess it's not that sensitive, but I want to be sure, because I can't afford to replace the airbags if they go off. The sensors may not even be in the bumper, but is there any danger while working around the front of the car that they may be set off?

Ya you'll be fine. Quick tip. Leave the clips underneath the car attached and they will support the weight of the bumper. Now it wont fall on the floor. Wrap a rag around the edges of the bumper so they don't scratch your fenders, like in the pic.

dont worry bout the airbags.. as long as yer not using a sledge hammer to remove the bumper yer fine

if yer worried about droping the bumper cover just ziptie it to the radiator.. then once you get it all lose just cut the ziptie.. that way it cant fall..

i still dont see how people manage to drop it though.. ive taken that sucker off like 10 times and never had a problem with it

it's a valid worry. I would guess though if you disconnect the battery, the airbags can't deploy, you may want to call your local honda dealer and see if that's right.

Actually they can still deploy with the battery disconnected.
