mtf

someone told me that changing manual transmission fluid is to lub the transmission, and there is no performance added, is that true? will change transmission fluid give us more respond from our transmission?

I doubt you would see any significant performance gain other then it being possibly smoother to operate.

Redline and Motul all sell special MTF that supposedly improves the shifting feel. But I'm extremely skeptical of those. MTF is basically just semi-synthetic 5w-30 motor oil. I've used 5w-30 motor oil on Honda manually trannies before with absolutely no problems.

a switch to synthetic may help decrease some of the horsepower lost in the drive train but not a lot.
