Re: Lx Owners Please Help!!!
NO i dont think the headers would be a direct bolt on, gotta rewell your hooks for ur exhaust system to made it work out. i think the headers that will work for our car is callled kamikazee someone correct me if i am wrong.
and about the srpings i am pretty sure your going to crub if u hit bumps .. and u might mess up ur suspension. My buddy had 18chromes lexani on this his 1.7el and drop it about 1.3- 1.5 and he has crazy camber wear. Couldnt really go to fast and the car was shaking like crazy on the free way lol... so he downgraded to 17 and the car drove smoother.
hope this answers ur questions

with a 225/40/18 you will not be able to turn with those springs. i run a 225/40/18 on my lx with the eibach prokit springs and kyb agx adjustables. rides great and only get minor rub at full lock. i also had to trim the inner fender lip in the rear. i shaved it back with a grinding bit on a di-grinder. but as mentioned before you will get bad camber wear with any lower of a drop. even at the .9" that eibach claims you should still use a camber kit.
as far as the manifold goes there is no headers that will allow you to keep the cat. every option that is available will remove the cat. you can do a ex exhaust swap and move the cat under the car with a random tech unit but they are hella expensive

Re: Lx Owners Please Help!!!
Let me try to explain the exhaust question...im tired of telling everyone about suspension lol its that time of the day.
You cant get headers and not lose your cat (you can have an aftermarket high flow cat welded into your new exhaust but whats the point). The problem is that on the LX, the cat is built into the header, unlike the EX. However, you cannot swap an EX header to an LX to remove the cat because its not a direct swap, I believe the EX header is shorter than the LX one. This means a few options
1. keep it stock...many users here have said that they did headerback exhausts and noticed nothing
2. do an EX exhaust swap...does nothing, and youll have to extend your o2 sensor wire to accomodate the cat being further under the car.
3. Swap an LX header into your header's place and lose the cat, have to make a simbox or o2 sensor defouler, and the only company that i know that makes this is OBX and has questionable quality
4. swap an ex header and performance exhaust...still wont have a cat and have to extend wires and such
i dont feel like typing the rest but you get the idea...if you want sound, get a muffler, or an intake. if what i heard about the "performance gains" is correct, its a great waste of 600 dollars and just adds to your mod list for talking purposes.
My buddy had a car like mine with an exhaust, and he lost low end power, the only gains were about 4500-5000rpm. If thats the RPM you drive around in, you dont deserve an exhaust, a car, or a licence. Thats just my opinion on the whole thing. I am getting a twin loop muffler put on my car, hell itl sound and perform the same as almost any other system out there for my LX.

Re: Lx Owners Please Help!!!
^ you have two sensors in your exhaust downtube, or your header if you got a DX/LX/HX... one is before the cat and one is after... sensors send info back to your ecu to make adjustments or throw a warning like that your system is messed up. If you cant plug these sensors in, they will throw a code and make your engine/ecu very unhappy. You got two choices, extend the wires, or sit back and buy a defouler that tricks your ecu into thinking the sensors are working, when they really arent- but hey, it keeps your car running!
BTW, ultimatetuner10- I created a thread for thse kind of questions the other day, I need to add some of the info in my second big post for that one guy into it, but check it out and let me know if you think anything else needs to go in there. I will add in the defouler soon. Heres the link: https://www.civicforums.com/forums/7...haust-faq.html

Re: Lx Owners Please Help!!!
a defouler is basically an extender you use to move your o2 sensor out of the pipe so its still plugged in, but not completely submerged into the pipe, so it only gets to read some of the exhaust gasses, and thinks there is a cat present. here is what a defouler looks like

Look at this second picture. You can see there is still something that looks like a cat, but it looks like something was rewelded so im assuming it was either cut and gutted, or a high flow has been put into place. you can see that the defouler has moved the sensor out of the pipe so some gasses still flow onto the sensor, but not enough to make it think there is a high flow/missing cat, so everything is fine and dandy.

Any other questions, feel free to ask

well if you have a cat, emission gasses will be different coming out than without one, and since the ecu recognizes the catted signal, itl throw a CEL code right away...that means no pass for inspection. a simbox im not familiar with but i think it electronically turns off the CEL code or changes the reading.

I havent done exhaust on my car, I was being offered a header for my car with a full exhaust for 75 dollars, I just dont think its worth it. I may buy it and sell it here at my cost just to help someone out. As far as sound, it will sound more raw...I dont know if you understand what I mean, but it will be a bit more raspy, and louder. What kind of exhaust do you have now?? Full name, specs...or is it just a muffler??

Re: Lx Owners Please Help!!!
Before I go to sleep. For OBD2 cars, there is no visual inspection IIRC. If you dont run this piece, a CEL will come up, and once they plug your car to the computer at the inspection station, it will tell them the problem. I get inspected at a friend's dad's shop so it would never be a problem, but your inspection station may realize you dont have a cat, and you could be paying a lot more than just inspection fees for violation of the law that makes them required. The defouler costs only a few dollars to make, so its worth it. I know certain states dont have inspections: South Carolina I think it was.

Re: Lx Owners Please Help!!!
LOL there lies the problem. You cant spell crap without APC. I really hope you arent a ricer lol cause louder doesnt mean faster, no matter what the placebo effect is trying to tell your mind. If you want nice sound, remove your axleback completely. Itl sound nice and deep, but you will be dumping exhaust gas under the car and rotting away your brain...its the setup I have now, and im getting a muffler welded on soon so my IQ doesnt dip into double digits. Do you want it to sound loud or raspy?? Il let other members take it from here, mufflers are a lot to explain at 1:30 when you have class at 8am lol

you can fit a 1" drop with the 225/40/18 but you will need shave your rear fender lip. i do not have a camber kit and really dont need one. my tire wear is actually great. i have the eibach prokit springs .8" drop

Re: Lx Owners Please Help!!!
This is probbably why your tires havent gone yet. I am on neuspeed sports and my camber was -2.5 all around when settled, luckily i had a camber kit so the shop fixed it all during alignment
