Acetone test

Hey guys,

I'll keep you posted on this as I go along, but I just started the ACETONE fuel additive test!

check some of this stuff out for info: http://www.lubedev.com/smartgas/additive.htm
http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directo...Additive#Honda

as well as others.

I have already noticed an increase in performance! engine runs smooth as glass!

FYI, my test mule: 03 Civic Si, JRSC, Megan headers, SRI, otherwise stock

I'll post as things progress.....

ADDED by S2000man01:

DO NOT DO THIS TO YOUR CAR!!! You can cause SERIOUS damage and even harm to yourself.

Where do I start.

1. 100% acetone is very hard to find and very expensive.
2. it's so volatile, most of it will evaporate as you're pouring it into the tank.
3. acetone dissolves plastics. Your fuel tank is plastic.

i noticed the same effects you did using fp60 from lubecontrol.com which is safe and proven.

ya i know that. But those from the store are not refined to be called Pure. They have contaminants. I bought some to strip the paint off my stock gauges, and yes it practically melts plastic. When you pour it in the tank it will run down the sides. Doing this many times will eventually cause a hole to form, not to mention plastic mixing with the fuel and clogging the filter. I'm just thinking longterm. Its just a heads up. You can do whatever you want with your car.

MSDS "May be harmful by inhalation, ingestion, or skin absorption; causes severe eye irritation, skin irritation and dermatitis; irritating to mucous membranes and upper respiratory tract; target organs: liver and kidneys. "

yea that doesn't sound very toxic

Ok, I skimmed through the links.

So what does your test involve?

Did you record mileage prior to the use of Acetone and after? This way we can get an accurate measurement depending on your engine setup variables and driving habits included.

this is a HUGE fallacy.

DO NOT PUT ACETONE IN YOUR CAR!!!!!

This is as dumb an idea as opening your valve cover and pouring water into the cylinders.

They even dubunked this "myth" on mythbusters. Any "performance" you are feeling is a placebo effect.

I think he should try mothballs next. They're supposed to make the octane higher and that gives tons of hp like using premium gas
