doubtful. canada just has kph instead of mph. its the same car. only problem you might run into is the tach wire but it should be there. also depending on the cluster, you may have a light coming on for abs since your car doesn't have it. you can just stick some e-tape behind the icon tho. thats what i did for some of mine.

What's the Wire for the ABS, cause the light is on, but I don't have ABS. at least I don't think so. 2002 DX coupe.

i'm not sure but you could check the electrical service manual if its not in the diy. or easier just put electrical tape behind the icon.

Can some one with a 2003 - 2005 EX w/ ABS tell me what pin location on the blue connector the Blue/Red wire is going into. That is your ABS light wire.

I cant find anyone with a manual to help me find it, but anyone with a 03-05 ex w/ abs can just pull out the cluster in like a minute and check. It would help out a lot of people who have done the swap and want to get rid of the abs light without tape or removing the bulb.

yes it is, but its the first time that I saw this thread, esp. with the wires and their colors explained. I already saw those diagrams that you posted gearbox, didnt help me as much. I will be needing your advice once exams are over....lol.

well the vp diagram is what you start with, then you pull out all the wires and put them back to match the ex diagram

If I want to install a 04 EX Couple cluster on my 01 LX Sedan, can I use the same diagram that you posted above?

Also, how hard is it to rewire the harness?

not too hard. just gotta unplug the battery, take out the cluster, then on each connector there are two locking tabs that need to be pried off the sides. then you can take out the wires with pliars or a pin removal tool. then they can be pushed back in the right spots.

there are two styles of gauge cluster. Old style is the 01-02 lx/ex and 01-05 dx/vp. New style is 03-05 lx/ex. so when you swap old sytle with new style, the same diagram applies. on the diagram, ex is the new, and vp is the old.

After reading this whole thread I'm still a little confused. I have an '04 VP and basically just want to add a factory tach to my car. Would I be better off with an LX or EX cluster? Are they both the same? I'm not really too concerned with looks. Thanks in advance for any info.

i have an 01-02 ex cluster.. will that be a direct swap into an 03 dx? thanks for any help. I will be doing it today.. so if i dont get a reply i will let everyone know..

yup. 01-02 lx/ex will directly swap with any year dx. if you want the led 03-05 lx/ex cluster, thats what this diy here is for to rewire the pins.

girlfriends 05 civic manual tranny. would like to put a cluster in for her that has the tach. would i need to rewire anything if i get a 05 ex/lx cluster.

she has a DX. you can directly swap any 01-02 lx/ex cluster with tach. if you want the new led style 03-05 lx/ex, you need to rewire like in this thread. the diagrams should be posted a few pages back.

I got a 2005 Civic VP, if I get the 2005 EX cluster, is it just plug and play? Or do I need to rewire or is it not compatible? Let me know guys. thanks

you need to rewire it. 01-05 vp/dx is all the same old style cluster. you can only directly swap 01-02 lx/ex cluster into yours without rewiring.

time to resurect this thread cuz im in deep SH*# !!! Gearbox or anyone who has done this i was doing my swap, but found that the wires were a bit hard to pull out. I already released the locks on the sides so then i attempted to pul lthem out but then SNAP!!! wire popped of and the pin connector is still in side.... danmit danmit danmit!! HELP HELP HELP!!!

that happened to me on a few but stripped the wire. they sell pin poppers at a computer store to push them up from the bottom. you could try a paperclip but i could never get it to work.
