the junction box aka central grounding point is used so the negative terminal won't be overcrowded with wires ..

here's a pic of a car with the kit installed .. the juction box is the pic on the right:

nymbus2k:
thanks for commenting about my setup.

how are those grounding points holding out for you?

I would suggest grounding your driver side tower to the junction instead of the firewall, remember, path of least resistance...
just a thought.

Also, your 0-60 numbers are very realistic, although I haven't clocked myself, I too noticed a differerence after reseting the ecu and driving around for a while.

slamtank: the junction box is just an aluminum triangle with predrilled/threaded holes for one side of the ground wire to bolt onto

sepudo: the kit did not come with a wire/cable long enough to travel from my positioned junction box to the driver's side strut .. the only location i had for the juction box was just below the fuse box .. i will try to get pix up soon to help my statements

dude that is exactly what i wanna know...where did u get that so called "junction box" and how did u bolt it to the fender wall? i read all these posts about the grounding kit and i must admit, we have some smart 7th gen drivers....all u tech headz i give u propz! I might order a set from happies and choose a whole new pattern of grounding points...just to see if there is a difference from the way all uv yall are doin' it....i do like the way you made yours tho nymbus2k....much props!

My kit only has two wires going form the negative terminal.

That red kit looks over croweded, its nice!

but my kit is a simple 5 wire, Dasiy Chain method, much cleaner, and simpler looking, but still very effective in provind you with a smoother idle, increased throttle response, brighter head lights, increased stereo efficency. =)

the junction box came with the arospeed ground wire kit:

i used the hole that bolted a mount for the fuse box to bolt the junction box .. but the bolt that was on the mount was too small and narrow for the juction box ... so i made the hole larger and used the supplied bolt and nut to secure the juction box into place

That's what I'm wondering myself... It's hard to get those wires to contact the little bolts on those ignition coils. If you've ever taken those nuts off you'll know what I mean. Plus the valve cover is magnesium and those bolts are imbedded in it. Magnesium has a relative electrical conductivity of 0.42, while aluminum has a relative electrical conductivity of 1.00. I would ground the two bolts that hold the valve cover on. Those probably go all the way through the valve cover and touch the block. Then again, maybe both would be good?

um try a longer breaker bar...i dont see why it would be so hard to get off...see if they might have welded it by mistake. only other thing i can think of is to liberally soak it with WD-40

This is just an update on my earlier post...I finally recieved the gold ring terminals...there must have been something wrong with shipping...he finally sent the package with priority mail and i received them. he sent me like alot more than i ordered. I highly reccomend.

GUYS i just found a place that sells the GOLD RING TERMINALS for $.49 cents...they are on sale right now. Here you go
http://www.audiotronicsaccessories.c...2002/inac.html

(BUt theres a catch, you have to email him about it because they have an error with shipping...shipping is only $2.00 when it comes up 13 for shipping online. He asks me to send a money order but im asking him about a credit card payment.)

Here is what i bought:
11 feet 4 Gauge black/clear 2058 strand OFC wire. $15.89
8 -4 awg 5/16 stud Gold ring terminals $5.92
2 gold Battery terminals inputs for (1) 0 (1) 4 and (2) 8 gauge power wires $29.30

hehe so i spent 51.11

This is an update on those gold ring terminals i bought....WELL i have not recieved them and i was supposed to a week ago, the guy even offered to overnight ship another set BUT i have not recieved those either. I have requested a refund

I bought it, but the grounding points given are already good. The biggest gains I noticed were better cold starting and improved stereo performance.

grounding wires

Circular Grounding System - By utilizing a 24 karat gold plated distribution block and multiple grounding points, improved idle and drivability are often obtained as the additional grounding points equalize resistance and voltage between various ground points. Each 8 gauge spiral twined cable is wrapped with signature HKS purple plastic to protect and add color to the Circle Earth System. Vehicle specific kits included pre-measured cable lengths and distribution blocks.

kinda pricy
