DIY: Grounding kit Install
my setup
I got my setup installed a few days ago. I got all the stuff for $20 at my local sound shop.
I noticed that when I remote start my car now, it doesn't hesitate. Before it used to churn too long sometimes and it sounded kinda bad. Other than that I haven't noticed anything too noticeable, but then again I never have had any complains with my car. I love my car.
take a look and feel free to comment.

Here is what i bought:
11 feet 4 Gauge black/clear 2058 strand OFC wire. $15.89
8 -4 awg 5/16 stud Gold ring terminals $5.92
2 gold Battery terminals inputs for (1) 0 (1) 4 and (2) 8 gauge power wires $29.30
hehe so i spent 51.11
This is an update on those gold ring terminals i bought....WELL i have not recieved them and i was supposed to a week ago, the guy even offered to overnight ship another set BUT i have not recieved those either. I have requested a refund

actually it will cost more than his stuff if i do it myself as well..what i want is the experience and the feeling of succeed when i finish it..like "OH i made it! im genius" things like this..lol
if u wanna just buy stuff and install it urself, its all good go ahead..but i just wanna do it myself completely independent..i learn lots of things by doing that..and it worth all those money, time, and effort..thats all about it..
manual of a power wire that im gonna buy for this mod states that it resists temperature range -40 to 60 C..is it enough?
i think engine bay would get much hotter than that..
its hpm power wire

yea man its enough...just remember its usually used for power wire for an amp and goes into the engine bay and to the battery why would they use wire where its plastic shell would melt? its heavy duty wire..

Most 4 AWG power cable from the audio manufacturers has a rating of 105 degrees Celcius for the insulation. This is plenty high for the engine bay. I would recommend something along those lines, anything lower and you could risk melting the insulation depending on where you run it.....
hey has any of u guys know or hear about "alternator + grounding"?
im not sure if thats how ppl say but im talking about connecting battery + terminal and alternator..not an alternator body itself(body is - as i kno) but theres + bolt..
i just heard about this from another car's forum..and im told that this brings the best result of any grounding..

the grounding kit does work .. i recently installed the Arospeed Ground Wire Kit which uses a central grounding point that branches off to the major components of the engine .. this is my setup:
1. negative terminal to junction box (central ground point)
2. tranny to junction box
3. passenger's firewall to junction box
4. driver's strut tower to passenger's firewall
5. front radiator support to junction box
6. engine block to juction box
i have an apexi rsm installed in my car but i don't have the g-sensor (optional) .. i used the numbers given to me to actually see if there was an improvement .. i measured 0-60km:
without AROSPEED GROUND WIRE KIT:
1: 5.9sec
2. 5.81sec
3. 5.87sec
AVG: 5.86sec
with AROSPEED GROUND WIRE KIT:
1. 4.81sec
2. 4.83sec
3. 4.78sec
AVG: 4.81sec
there is an aproximate 1 second improvement
the voltage has also increased by .5

i was shocked too .. but the biggest improvement was when i grounded the engine block instead of one of the coils .. my initial setup included one of the coils to the junction box .. but then i experimented and found that i got a better increase when i grounded the engine block
i'll try to get pix up soon ... i don't have a digi cam so i'll have to borrow my cousin's
the ground for the engine block is the wire that's attatched to the front radiator support
in this pic .. it's the silver wire from the engine to the front rad support:

pic from mex .. thx

i got the arospeed ground wire kit for free .. i work for a magazine and get some products from manufacturers
as someone stated earlier, there are 2 methods: serial and parallel .. the arospeed/hks kits are parallel and the hyper ground system/happies(diy) kits are serial ... i'm not sure which method is better but if i were to guess, i'd go with paralled since each ground point is in contact with the negative terminal and efficiently grounded rather than having it looped or in series
IMO, if you were going to diy .. i'd do something similar to sepudo:

every ground point he chose is in contact with the negative terminal
