Brake Lights 2004 Civic

Driver side brake light was out. Switched the bulbs between right and left now both don't work. The third central brake light is still active and works fine. Replaced bulbs for both right and left and they still don't work. Hazard lights come on, horn works and I checked the fuse anyways it isn't blown. I'm stumped since the Hazards and the horn works and the third brake light works. Any advice?

Buy a Haynes manual
-look through the electrical diagram and test the fuses and relays
as well as the voltage, amperage and resistance to each item, with a multimeter.

This rules out a lot of stuff....

As mentioned inspect the sockets, and bulbs.

The hazards work and I replaced the bulbs so it shouldn't be either.

Checked the fuse for brake lights and its fine, I have a feeling that there is just a wire somewhere that is loose or damaged.

They use separate bulbs and sockets, completely unrelated..

Brake and tail lights share dual-filament bulbs.
