Yellow Headlight Bulbs
Im not too schooled on the different types of headlighs bulbs there are on the market. I bought a set of MTEC 9006 blue bulbs for my 04 civic and they have done a wonderful job of not burning out...I've had them now for 5 months and they are still going strong. However, the one downside is that while they are a 'hyper blue' they really dont provide the best visibility (door opens and here comes the, "get real HID" guys.) I do not plan to buy real HID system. All that I need are a nice looking colored bulb with good visibility. Now I've noticed the latest craze, or what seems to be up and coming are the yellow headlight bulbs...I was contemplating getting a set as a backup for when my MTECs burn out. However, Im skeptical on how good of visibility they will provide for me. Again, obviously I need some education when it comes to the lighting dept. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Yellow is better for rainy and foggy conditions.
The "whiteness" on colored bulbs or HIDs only reflect the rain and fog making it a mess to drive at night.
Its not THAT bad but you can tell the difference once you're in heavy fog at night.
The light output level of a yellow bulb is very very close to stock bulbs.
I would recommend them over any other "blue bulb" for those who want better visibility without going HID.
Just make sure you get an ion yellow and not a yellow colored bulb.
Yellow bulb = cheap yellow glass that's sold all over eBay.
Ion yellow = clear glass with a rainbow coating on it.

I'll have to disagree. I paid good money for those true ion bulbs and they look exactly like stock and total crap. The yellow coated nokyas I have are pure yellow 2500k and more visible than my hids.

I forgot the mention something. The ion yellows shine an amber color, not yellow.
Think of urine color
It's nothing like stock in color...alot more amber.
So yellow that I got pulled over and was given a warning for them.
Didn't get a ticket because I always carry my stock bulbs in my car so I can make excuses.
They worked really well in my car.
Shone the road like stock and reflected traffic signs alot better.
I've used some Chinese brand ion yellows ($15) and Piaa ion yellows ($50) both in H4's.
Both worked wonderfully.

Actually it's raining now but I can try and take a pic for you in the next hour or so. We'll see. But it's a deep yellow. Ion you can't tell the difference from stock. I have H11 ions laying around if you want em for shipping cost, but they're not very good. Get the nokya yellows from ebay.

Well these are terrible pics cause there was a bright street lamp right over me, but it should give you an idea. They look alot better in dry weather. I put a few old pics in dry weather below as well even tho you can't really see the whole thing. Headlights are kinda blue in the pics but in real life they're pure white.

Gearbox, you're talking about H11 sized bulbs.
These are for foglights.
The guy wants something for this headlight housings.
You need to see the ion yellows in H4s.
Trust me its an pure amber.
No way does it look like stock bulbs.

Ya I'm sure the headlights will be similar. Yellow light is very easy for our eyes to discern objects at night. White is harder, and blue almost impossible. That's why alot of the streetlamps are that yellow/orange color.
