i used to have altezzas, then i realized that every single peoson with a 2dr civic around me had the same TYC tails, so i put the stock tails back in and i think it looks 100x better.
i had altezzas at 1st when i bought my car but then i got black housing headlights and didnt match besides the clear one where gettin kinda old and ugly so i put my stock ones back on which makes my car look hella better

Stock...I agreed completely that altezzas can be dangerous. Most of the ones that I see on the road do not light up enough to be of any use in bright sunlight.
Now, I'm not opposed to swapping them, just swapping them with sub-par shitty aftermarket lights.
The only ones on my list of possible replacements are:
1. Dr5D's, which are really altezzas with a red lens. But since they don't have the chrome showing to mess up the light, they look good. Hey Dr3D, any chance of getting some pics of yours with the brake/turn lights on and at night?
2. UK oem tails...see pic below. Hideously expensive, but snazzy simply because they're not common here.
3. 2004 tails. Very few on the road so far, so there's the appeal. I do feel that once the 04s become common, they'll look stupid with the old bodystyle. I could be wrong...wait and see.

well, i got altezza's, one of the first mods I did, lol. I think it looks better than the stock 01 sedan tails though. I wish I could get the 03 or jdm tails, then I'd change back to stock

I had APC chrome taillights about 2 weeks. Looked like ****. Sold them . Back to stock for about 3 months. Then found those red halo tailights(the best aftermarket taillights for coupes imo). I was one of first few who bought those tailights while ago. Then sold them again. Painted stock taillights after that.. Which turned out pretty good. I sold my car 2 weeks later. I had to sell my car with those tailights though. Coudlnt find anyone who wanted to trade for stock taillights. Had to sell my car with diy painted headlights too. bummer. Stock tailights is the way to imo or UK oem taillights for coupes/ jdm tails for sedans. Personally, I would never buy altezza lights for my future cars... I have stock tailights for my si.

fine02civicgurl--I think smoking the lights would look really good. Just a little so you can still see the red. The all-black look is bad, and illegal. Good luck deciding.

ebay real cheap^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ allgayzas are allgayzas
they are so played out they wouldnt be so bad if you couldnt walk into
any parts store and order them. maybe then all the cars covered in nawwzz stickers, (that they bought from the same place off the shelf)
wouldnt be able to get them.. it doesnt matter how busted a car looks people will still slap some good old alltezzas on there. that is why they look whack they have a bad rep for be too riccey...i mean you can get them for a damn silverado step side.. they also need to be made well and most of them look like they are held together by tape..
our cars are classy with smooth sharp lines. the stock ones, even the uk n ,jdm look great because they look like they are supposed to be there. they fit they match the lines of the car its more appealing to the eye. well this is acctually getting alot longer than i thought it would be sorry guys it's just my opinion

The only way they'll look okay is on a heavily modded car, and even then they would have to blend in a little. Just too played out anyway. When you start seeing stock camry and ford cars with them, it's time to say stop.
