im not saying im against altezzas. i think some are ugly, but man, its your own opinion. i had chrome tycs and i really like them. i think they looked good, i just got tired of them. like i said before, the donut styles are ugly, again thats my opinion. its whatever you think makes your car look good. i think body kits and 99% of wings look like CRAP but its not my car who has it, so who am i to say "YOU ARE SO STUPID" (although i do sometimes say that)

I have chrome TYCs on my red coupe. The point was that red tails on a red car don't stand out as a feature of the car, so I wanted some contrast. I'm not 100% satisfied with the TYCs, as fas as looks go, but they're the ones I like most out of all after market ones available. I do want to smoke them, but only a bit, yet have not been able to find out how... when I asked people on here they just started flaming about how crappy TYCs are, and that pissed me off. I asked a question not for your opinion... but whatever. So again, if anyone knows how to tint the tail lights only like 15% that would be great.

I started off with replacing the stock tail lights with chrome TYCs. I drove my car through the first winter with them on. Eventualy they leaked and for some reason the chrome began to peel off. I returned them and got them replaced with the carbon fibre look ones, a week later I got sick of them and put the stock back on. Personally I prefer the look of the stock tail lights. However, my friends all prefered the look of the TYC's and did not understand why I took them off. Bottom line do what makes you happy because its your car.

Here are the rules regarding altezza style tail lights.
White car + chrome tails = ok
Black, red, green, blue car with cf tails = ok
yellow, orange, bright green car with gunmetal = ok
any dark colored car with chrome tails = what the **** are you thinking?
Any light colored car with dark colored tails= better than dark with chrome..but still ghey.
So, in conclusion, if you have no sense of style, stick with the stocks. I know I have a white civic and plan on painting my stock tails soon

I'm riding with the 'teezas right now. I have them because that damn pink reverse light on my 01 sedan was pissing me off. Now I have the alteezas and am the only one in town with them, but they too are getting on my nerves. I've always wanted to smoke some lightsso I will be trying this very soon. I'm going to smoke them so that they are different.

There are many reasons why I hate altezzas. All of them have been listed here (especially that they are hazardous and their quality matches that of some domestic cars.) Another reason why I dislike them is:

Attention.

Your taste of altezzas would scream, "I want attention." You'll certainly obtain it... from other ricers, cops, theives, haters, etc. It's like a trend everyone follows. They don't really say, "I'm trying to stand out" more than they say "I look like the next ricer." Sure, you're free to like what ever you want but WHY do it and be like everyone else?

I can't STAND hearing from people that when they get their Honda Civic the first thing they want to do is get Altezzas. What does that say to me? That says they don't know what the hell they are doing to their car. It's like taking medication when you're sick but not taking the proper dosage. Eventually some will learn (as a lot of people in this thread have) and a lot won't.

You said that people are free to do whatever they want but why do it and be like everyone else. So do you assume that people are doing it just to be like everyone else? When I had my chrome tails on my white civic, I did it because it made the car look very clean. I had white rims with the chrome tails and looked pretty sweet IMO. At the time, nobody around my area had a 7th gen with Altezza style taillights. Therefore, I was like NOBODY else. But I didn't do it to be like everyone else or to be different. I did it because it was what I MYSELF wanted. I now have stock wheels put back on for the winter and I put my stock tails back on because if the ONLY THING you do to your car is the tails, then it definitely sticks out as rice.

My car's color is stock. It is Eternal Blue Pearl. That's the color of the car when it sits under a green light, FYI.

If you put Altezzas on your car, your ride looks like every other riced out Civic whether it be a 4th-6th gen Civic, 2nd-4th gen Integra, or a Chevy Cavalier, Ford Mustang. Why do you think so many people went back to stock?

Yeah, I hate seeing stock Hondas with just clear tail lights - but I don't think adding a body kit is gonna help make it look better more than it would just validate it to looking like it's more into the ricer show scene. That's my opinion.
