why is it that everyone here with a manual is such a homo about it. all i hear is auto sucks and autos are gay bla bla bla. :shake:
not everyone wants to shift, especially with an annoying clutch. hell if i had everything my way my civic would have the new ferrari F430 tranny (F1 style semi-auto aka paddle shifting). id like to see you perform a COMPLETE shift in 150 ms. :rtfm:

when i drive auto it makes me want to sleep and hit stuff..... yawwwwwn even thinking about it makes me sleepy quick quick give me a standard

I wish I had stick but then again, I'm glad I had auto, since here in OC, traffic is a pain in tha arse...but if u want to feel like you're driving stick...why not downshift at certain points? Thats all u have to do. :)

Like I said before.Both manual and auto civics are slow.Case Closed.

I got the auto because I am a lazy ass!!!! but once the money is droped and you get up the low end power they can be just as fast. But I am just lookin for the lazy way out.

why is this even a discussion. if you cannot drive a stick you should be legally banned for the rest of your life from racing or even calling yourself a racer!

I own an auto..but manuel seems like it would be so much more fun...However...Im young, and Im lazy....I like letting the car do the work..

But..I do wish I had my friend's 02 IS300...drive it auto or manuel :cry:

I would never have anything else but a manual

Manual...use to have an auto, 97 mits. mirage. It ran for 155 thous. mi. and never had any problems at all w/ it. So glad i have a stick now :)

i had to learn how to drive manual when i got my 04 civic, and know that i know how i will never go back to automatic unless i am in an suv

how easy / difficult might it be to swap tranny's? i mean would it be worth it ....i bet you could trade tranny for tranny at a junkyard ...seeing as that a auto is worth more. any input?

had driven nothing but stick but got a great deal on an automatic so that's what I have now... really miss my old rally car setup though

It's not about fuel economy, it's about contstant stop-n-go city driving. I figure a manual would quickly get boring.

I just got rid of my 2002 civic manual for a 2005 Si and the diference is ****ing crazy lolololololo -Autos are so slow compared to Manual

yall guys dont know, both styles of transmission have + and - to them

in terms of racing (and ill keep this short)

manual = road course, autox
drag = auto owns drag, hands down.

i might have to agree with ngophat. auto is good for drag cuz of no mishifting. there only bad thing is the longer gears on auto.

btw, has anyone ever seen a car with the same gearing in auto and manual?
