K20z1 Swap/Turbo in process.
The hankooks are nice, I really thought about getting them. The only thing is that for optimum performance I think they need to be shaved. So I think I am going with the Azenis 615s, which is the same specs as the RS2s, but I think they will work better out of the box. I am getting them heat cycled. I will let you know how they work out, maybe I will try the Hankooks next year.

The new OEM 5 spoke wheels where around $187.00 per wheel at the dealer. The tires ran about $80.00 per tire.
I never had a chance to finish the retro yet. If anybody does a retro I recommend using OEM housings. With the aftermarket ones when it's time to pull the big chome reflector unit from the back of the housing the plastic balljoint piece seems to crack or break. In the aftermaket housing these pieces are brittle and the OEMs balljoint piece is more flexable. Can't use the OEM balljoint piece in the aftermarket housing because they are different sizes. The only thing pretty much interchangable was the orange or white relector in the parking light area. I need to buy two OEM housing and I will contunue with the retro.
How is your Boosted K20 treating you?
The Centerlines Excels that I had before ran about $275 per wheel. I can't remember what the tires cost though.

dam man, that sucks... i've been there... my centerline rpm's cost 500 a wheel.. lol and they are still in my basement collecting dust the last 2 years... stupid 4 lug rims...
i run the rt615's on my b20 swapped teg, 215/45/16 on rota slips. i seriously dont think i will ever change tires. i absolutely love them......
Hey! Welcome back to the forums, sorry to hear about your misfortuane... I am currently swapping in my k20z1 but I am stuck on how to re-wire it. I cannot find a 05-06 RSX Manual that tells me info on the C101 connector. I am sending you a PM to see whether you can help me out!
^ I figured it out.. Just gotta take the output from the 05-06 KPRO and wire it to ur Speedo Input wire.
Depending whether you have the adapter harness or not, you can wire it up a few different ways.
Basically get an 05-06 RSX ECM Pinout and compare with a Civic's ECM Pinout and you can figure it out.
Heres a nice write-up on K20a.org

Re: K20z1 Swap/Turbo in process.

Ok fellow 7thgeners I finally got the car dynoed. Sorry for the long wait but I have been very busy the last 6 months. Here's the chart for the K20z1 with the RSX Greddy Kit tuned with KPro. This is about the most your about to get from a Greddy Kit give or take.
The shop bumped the VTEC from around 4.5k to 5.6k to get rid of that ugly torque/hp dip in the mid range that was causing me alot of traction grief. I can still can brake the tire loose but the power is tamed and controllable.
I getting ready to ditch this kit and go custom and a built K24 hopefully within the next year.
Thank guys for all your positive comments and inputs that helped me keep going on this project.

Re: K20z1 Swap/Turbo in process.
the numbers seem right for a greddy. Usually the greddy kits only add around 40-50hp from the crank number. Most people upgrade the kit once its installed. only good thing about the greddy kits are the carb legal status they have.
Re: K20z1 Swap/Turbo in process.
I guess I thought with boost a K should put out over 300hp. I mean I dynoed at 201 NA on a mustang dyno, which should be over 210whp on a dyno-jet. Also a guy from my area has (had) a K20a3 pushing 10psi making well over 300whp, I am not sure what kit he had, but I guess he did end up blowing his engine up.
Re: K20z1 Swap/Turbo in process.
weird... we just got done dynoing a k20a2 with a greddy kit on it and it made 308hp to the wheel...
what kind of dyno where you on and how much boost were you running?

Re: K20z1 Swap/Turbo in process.
According to K-Pro it was showing 8 psi. This is just a stock Greddy RSX Kit with K-Pro. The only other upgrade is the intercooler and BOV. From what i read in the past you can up the boost to 10 psi and that may get you in 275 to 300 whp area but are limited because of the small turbo in this kit.
This kit has been pending carb status for the longest time. That why im going to upgrade the turbo, mani and down pipe with a K24 Build. I don't know which turbo I'm gonna use because im still researching info on them. If anybody have any suggestions on any turbos I,m open.
The car was dynoed on a DynoJet.
