...Yeah, I thought that was wrong, but I didn't trust my memory enough to contradict that posting. Don't worry, I didn't take it as flaming.
I thought the k20a was only called that because the Type-R hadn't come out in production, therefore not having an engine-stamp, and the "a" was just a subtitute till more information came about?
Again, I'm probably wrong.

Stopped by the shop Tuesday evening and now I'm starting to get excited. I feel like a kid before Christmas.
The radiator and cooling fans are in. All of the engine work and plumbings work is done except a few little minor things...like the clamps on the intercooler, Type R valve cover, IVTEC cover, blow off valve ect.
Henry was finishing up on the 3 inch exhaust. It was a slip fit set up. Since the Vic seems to have a little longer wheel base than the RSX by about 3 inches...he had to weld that section together in the second pic. When I was there he was finishing up making the tip longer in the last pic.
Henry is going to tow the Vic tomorrow to the dealer to have the imobilizer flashed. I hope it fires up with no issues. Then he's going to do some tuning to get it running right, reinstall the front bumper to fit with the intercooler and some interior items.
Here are some more pics. I have to go out of town to work. I will not be back until Monday. I'm pretty sure it will be drivable by then and I'll post some more pics. I call Henry tomorrow to make sure he saves some dyno sheets.

I have an old Ford 93 Ford Aerostar. I bought it mainly to haul my DJ Equipment when I have to do a gig or just for a back up vehicle. But since the AC went out I have been using my Mom's Civic or my Dad's Odyssey.

I want to say thanks guys for the positive comments. Wow swaps are ranging 3 to 6 months to complete. Now I don't feel so bad about this swap taking so long. Thanks again.

I called Henry and he said he had trouble getting the starter to crank over. He fixed that problem and now the car is ready to be towed to the dealer. The Honda dealer has it scheduled for this Friday. I'll keep updating.

It's alive. The Honda Dealer flashed the imobilizer this morning and the car started. Now Henry is going to make sure everything is runing right and tune the car. He still needs to trim and install the front bumper. Then bolt on some interior items. Hopefully I can pickup the car around next Tueday.
Its a celebration bitches!

god dam thats a **** load of time for a k swap. took me and josh 8 hours of messing around, drinking heinikins... and we got the d17 out and the k20 in. all thats needed are small things like ecu reprogram, hoses, pedals, shifter box and wiring harness
Stopped by the shop again to check up on the Vic. They had the front bumper on and the interior was put together except the glove box area for easy access to the ECU. They forgot to put the bumper beam on so they have to remove the bumper again.
The car was so dirty since it had not been washed for about 4 months. I went ahead and washed it there at the shop. I also cleaned and detailed the engine bay. I even changed the valve cover myself. I'm just trying to help them out so I can get my car back sooner and save on some labor.
Here are some more pics. I even uploaded a short video of the car being started up. The car sounds quiet for having a 3 inch exhaust. It does vibrate inside because of the stiff motor mounts. I have not had a chance to drive it down the street yet because Henry wants to make sure there is tranny fluid in the tranny and everything checks out ok. I'm also getting a gas tank pressure CEL code. Hopefully this will be worked out soon.
Here is the link to the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9O_USEwvj8
Please keep in mind that the engine has not been tuned yet and the BOV has not been installed yet. Quality may not be that great because I used my digital camera to take the video. Hope you like the vid.
