ok just wondering if this is true or not my Freind has a black sentra SER SPEC V
and he was thinking about getting black & silver leather sparco racing seat ($$$$$$$$$$)
but found out he couldent because of the side air bags in the seats and the SRS computer...
i just wonder is this ture with our civics as well or might it just be nissan thing?

it is true if you have side air bags you can remove the seats for racing seats but the light will go off.

I'm sure he can use them, but he won't be able to plug in the air bag connector thus making the SRS light go off in the dash. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG] This is just using my common sense.. maybe i am wrong?

will the airbag deploy in an accident if the SRS light is on? mines been on for awhile... havent got around to the DIY reset

i have another question. i have corbeau seats in and just reset the srs light and it still comes back on. is it because the harnesses under the racing seats are unplugged, hence making the srs light come back on after it is reset? i reset the light 3 times, and yes it did flash twice every time before i turned the ignition to the off position. any thoughts?

What if you dont have side airbags ...I heard that the SRS light will go on regardless if you have side arirbags or not?

If you don't have them in the seats, how could you have a sensor for them? LOL Or at least one that is functional...lol

You can obviously replace the seats. Will light come on if the original seats had airbags, of course it will! Will the light ever stay off even if you reset it a million times, most likely not! Why would it? That would be like the ecu saying that the side bags are not functioning but I am going to let it go.... light will always come on imo.

your srs light will not come on. if you have side airbags then the side air bags light will come on.

i spent so much money on my freaking side impact seats, and im not going to change them, what if i need them one day!!!

i know their not light but their there to save your life...

i don't think we should be messing with the safty devices on our cars...

he should just get costum leather it would look a little nicer since it will be for both the front and back seats...

So pros. and cons. do you guys think it is worth it to get racing seats if your car was equipped with side airbags ?? My car was equipped with side airbags and I am thinking of getting racing seats in the very near future.... Another major question is if your SRS light is on then if you are in an accident will the dash and stearing wheel airbags still go off.. Please let me know.. Thanks

Well, I don't think it is worth it period. I think it looks silly in a civic...This just my opinion and I am not trying to flame anyone or anything of that nature...
