just open the owners manual. it is warning that the side air bag system has shut down, she is probably leaning on the outside edge of the seat. the system shuts down thinking that the passenger is potentially in the path of the airbag.

your girlfriend must be use to leanning to the right to the door... where she covers the deployment path of ur side air bag... the side air bag light is on meaning that the side air bag (passenger side) is disabled. check ur manual..

tell her to sit away from the door or side of the chair and the light will be off and the side air bag renable...

having ur hand there doesn't seem to cause much of a problem though.

my friend always cause the light to go on too, she always lean to the right and I'm like stop it dang it.

I have the same problem every once in a while when I have friends lean against the side but it's all good. by the way, what dealership did you buy your car from? I bought mine from Ralph Schomp and I have mixed feelings......their salesmen are good but the service department sucks.

schomp's salesguys were cool but they wouldnt budge on their price. i ended up giong with empire because they gave it to me for 15501 (cp ex 5 spd). my credit score was a 722 which more than qualified me for the stupid loan but they wouldnt give it to me because i was only 20. they wanted to get me a loan at 8.99, which was an insult. i was walking out when the big honcho came back and told me he would sign off on it because i was putting 7K down.

i would say that the salesguy at planet was the coolest out of all of them. his name was spencer i believe. if it werent for the massive difference in price, i would have gone with planet.
