Camber Q
Camber Q
okay.. some are saying that lowering but using the stock wheel and tire won't need camber...but lowereing with 17 will need camber...
my point is if the 17's are wrapped in rubber with the same overall diameter as teh stock.. what's differnt?
is it the width of the rims? cause that's what i figured that throws the camber not the D of the rims ... am i right?

LOWERING the car causes the suspension to compress and that is what throws the camber off.
The rim/tire combo has NOTHING to do with camber.
If you have excessive negative camber, you need camber correction kits regardless of whether you are putting on 22" rims or go-kart wheels.

This is all true, but the lower and stiffer sidewalls of 17" tires will not flex like your stock tires will. In this sense negative camber will have more of an effect on the wear your low profile tires than your stockers.... (your stock tires are softer and narrower and will comform to the road better despite negative camber, thus they will not wear as quickly on the inside edge....)
