Clint i don't think you can reset the check engine light, just the Maint. Required light. If the check engine light is on, you should take it in because something is wrong. You can try to reset the battery for that. Take the positive cable off for about 10 min then put it back on. That will reset the ECU. If the light was meant to stay on (meaning something is really wrong) then it will come back on. IF it was just the gas door thing, then it will most likely stay off. Give me a call if you need help.

When I took my intake off the other day I forgot to hook the sensor back up and that caused a check engine light for me. After I reattached it the light was still on. Since it did not need to be on any more the ECU recognized this and after so many ignitino cycles it rechecks and resets the light.
