Check engine light

How do u reset that again. Does anybody remember how thw DIY goes? It's not listed... I searched

Clint i don't think you can reset the check engine light, just the Maint. Required light. If the check engine light is on, you should take it in because something is wrong. You can try to reset the battery for that. Take the positive cable off for about 10 min then put it back on. That will reset the ECU. If the light was meant to stay on (meaning something is really wrong) then it will come back on. IF it was just the gas door thing, then it will most likely stay off. Give me a call if you need help.

maint light, turn off the car, hold the button for awhile, hold it and turn on ur car. next time search first.

remove the negative wire from you rbatter... let it sit for 30 minutes... then hook it back up..

no need to flame a member who has been here a year before you. If you read his question carefully, you would have seen he was referring to the

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, not the maintenance light

When I took my intake off the other day I forgot to hook the sensor back up and that caused a check engine light for me. After I reattached it the light was still on. Since it did not need to be on any more the ECU recognized this and after so many ignitino cycles it rechecks and resets the light.
