Recently my 08 Civic started leaking oil, but it's very slow. I know this because I cannot see oil below the car and I've been checking it over the past 2 weeks and the oil level hasn't changed much. I had a back yard mechanic replace the valve cover gasket but didn't fix the problem. Actually maybe made it worse but not sure yet. I opened the hood today and noticed there is fresh oil puddled up where I highlighted in the attached picture. I've tried to search online to find out what this black plastic piece is but haven't figured it out.
Can someone please help?
