Question better than stock

I am looking into getting better suspension on my civic 2001. What I want is a bit of smoother ride. I love in colorado and the roads here are pretty much ****. I want something that when I go over a small divet in the road it doesnt feel like I just hit a manhole without a cover. I want it to be a little looser bound and rebound. I will be tuning this car later for racing but for now I want it as a dailer driver. Any brands or maybe even a direct swap from an acura of some sort. Just let me know thanks

You obviously don't want to go too low then.

If you want a strut and spring combo, look into tokico blues struts paired with tein H.techs. That will give you a very light drop but will increase your smoothness even further.

If you want coilovers I would suggest getting tein basics. They are ultra soft for a coilovers option.

Smile Re: better than stock

So I should stay with the stock springs and put Tokiko shocks on it. Sounds awesome.

It is possible for you to keep your stock Springs and just upgrade your struts. That would provide a little bit better of a ride.

Re: better than stock

any amount of lowering will be rougher than the stock setup.

Re: better than stock

yeah stock is going to be the most comfortable lowering springs are stiffer.

Re: better than stock

if i am not mistaken, tokiko blues only with stock sprigns gets stiffer ride?
stiffer springs would counter the shock stiffness and actually control the shocks better, ending up in smoother ride, whenh they do work in conjunction. I am afraid i do not know which combination would be best fit, though. I only had one setup non-stock so far.

Re: better than stock

i know members running only tokicos on stock springs said the ride was much firmer. they are rated for lowered cars so the valving is different. which means harsh ride and a 4x4 look.
