I know someone has to know the answer plz help
I was coming to a stop to turn into the post office and as im braking (at this point im prob going under 10mph) i heard a loud sound when i pressed the brake medal down. It is the second time this has happened. the first time it happened was this past friday. Does anybody know what it could be? by the way i just bought the car (civic coupe 2001 ex) after it had the trasmission replace with an 05 trans that had 55k miles on it. Im really hoping it hasnt got anything to do with the transmission. Please

I've heard this same sound. I heard it maybe 5 times and it has never come back. It kind of sounded like a spring poping, but from underneath the center part of the car like near the oil pan. I never did figure out what it was- it always happened when I was about to back into my parking spot.

What kind of sound? "loud" isn't too descriptive.
Can you get it to happen all the time?
Put it in neutral and get on the brakes, if it does it, it's probably not the tranny.
Pop off the tires and check the pads and rotors. Maybe they are shot? Have you checked the brakes since you bought it?

well the sound was kinda like a rambling sound like a "errrrrrrrrr" sound...sorry this is the best i can think about how to describe it. and no the sound does not happen all the time. it is only the second time in four days that it has happened. oh and yea i have checked the pads and rotors this past weekend actually and they were good.

errrrrrrrrr? Like the sound when you put it into gear and its not really all the way in gear and you can hear the gears just barely/lightly "grinding" and you dont go anywhere?

Kinda weird. Being an '01 it could be a lot of things. Brake fluid could need a change? It only does it when turning and braking at the same time? Were you turning the same way both times?
Re: I know someone has to know the answer plz help
well both times the wheel was straight before i would turn. How would u got about changing the brake fluid, im sure it wouldnt hurt to do this anyway
