Wow, that's a naaasty failure.

Can you give us some details?
Any previous crash damage on that side?
Looks like a Progress front sway (hmmm)
Springs/coilovers?
Dropped?

This has me worried about my mods for autocross...

Someone else in this thread mentioned other failures; are these all happening with K20 swaps (or turbos)? Are you guys doing lots of 1/4 mile runs and hard 1st gear pulls? Only thing I can think of is repeated, high forward loads on the LCA lead to fatigue and failure. And the sway bar tab welds on the back of the arm might cause stress risers there which eventually crack and fail.

I'm a bit leary of the Progress bar because it could potentially put high bending loads on the middle of the LCA, but only if it's used with soft springs. The OP has very stiff coilovers, so it wouldn't be an issue.

Anyone have more info?

Chris

actually, i had the sway bar dissconnected because i forgot a bolt at my friends house that we isntalled my suspention at.

if the sway bar was still connected, i think there would have been some seriously worse damage done to the underbody

Ehh, my theory is all washed up. No way acceleration loads are going to be any worse than braking loads.

More likely stiff suspension+low profile tires+big pothole. Did you hit anything really hard recently? Pothole, sharp bump or something?
