what are you turbo people doing for the winter?
After piecing together my turbo "kit" for the past 6 months, I finally have everything lined up and ready to install. Initially the car was gonna go to the shop for the winter getting de-dinged and possibly painted a different color. I was supposed to move a few months ago and buy another car in the process, but neither happened so Im left with my civic having to go through another winter, but this time I have a turbo begging to be installed. Everyone I talk to says I should wait for spring to come before I install. I just want to know what you daily driven civic owners do for the snow season? does anyone go back to stock? avoid driving in the snow? I just have this picture in my mind of my intercooler packed with snow and my clutch not being happy with me.

Here in Oklahoma we barely get any ice or snow, but on the days that we do, I just take it easy and stay out of boost. Switch over to some winter or all season tires if you have more than 1 set of rims and you will be good to go.

Just put ur snow tires on and your pedal to the floor.
lol......seriously, i just drive it like normal. If it is really cold, you won't reach full boost anyway b/c the exhaust temps are lower.

Why not, it is solid. I hose mine off every time i wash my car.
i washed my car with the intercooler piping connected but nothing ever happend. Could it possibly damage the intercooler? The pipings are clamped tight, is there a chance for water to go through the piping clamps into the throttle body?
I drove for hours going one time when it was rainy as hell and thats when I blew the hg, but I dont think its from water, it was from driving in the 6K+ rpms for hours that cause the blown hg

IC are sealed people. if water can get in. AIR CAN GET OUT. and therefore no boost. its like a radiator. and u hose that off all the time washing it.

put your snows on and drop the turbo on. When I lived in ny, a friend had a blown built b18c5 on 14 psi in the summer. in the winter he'd crank the boost up because the extreme cold (~ 0 for 2 months). he always said the car ran so much better in the winter. just an idea.
oh here in FL we have n0 winters

we were jamming it the whole way there. He would usually be on my tail til 140mph but after that, he couldnt go pass 140 so we kept it around 100-140 the whole way there. When I got there the car was fine, but when we went home, we did the same and my car probably couldnt take it, after that I noticed I had coolant everywhere, then it finally gave up.
THe legend has *****, I mean I would always take him but not by much. maybe by a half a car length.
