I think I'm running lean
Hi everyone,
My turbo has been in for a while now and seems to be running nicely. However, my Apex'i EGT gauge shows that during full throttle I hit about 800 C. Is that too hot? If so, does that mean I'm running lean? And finally, what can I do to fix it if right now I'm broke and can't afford DYNO?
Thanks in advance,
Zach

first thing.... keep the boost setting but don't hit full boost when you're driving...
what kind of fuel setup are you running on the car?
get yourself an air/fuel guage or a wideband air fuel if possible
do you hear your car detonating/knocking? it sounds like static coming from the engine.. you should be able to hear it in your car...

I don't hear anything bad coming from the engine at all. The only reason I was asking was because my EGT was at around 800C at full throttle, and that seemed a little high. I know that everything can handle up to 870C without problem, and thus I have my warning indicator at 840C, but I thought 800C was a little high. I have no problems except for the EGT being at 800C.

Where do you have the sensor installed at ????
Where do you live, is it hot out and does the EGT temp get hot only after you have been driving for a long time or does it early ???
A EGT gauge isn't a good indicator of detonation. You are better off using a wideband.
