I just used some Kragen el cheapo spring compressor. The kind that you clamp one on opposite ends of the spring and turn with a socket. The last time I did my fronts I didnt even use a compressor to take off the top mount. Just gotta watch out where the part s go flying lol.

Also I am kind of wondering what kind of springs to get with them. It kinda makes sense to get coilovers though. If I have the shocks that can handle a big drop then why not just get them... I am either getting coilovers or neuspeed race. Not sure yet...
Here are some pics of my AGX. I took a few of the trunk, and under the hood, with the wheels on, and with the front wheel off. Let me know if ya got any questions.

I am riding on setting 1 all around right now, it is quite smooth with the OEM springs. the higher the setting the less roll but it does rattle you up quite a bit. i should set them on 4 to see how it is, but for me thats pretty rough for around town driving.

The way I understand it is that if you want to change the handling charateristics of your car then you adjust them diff front vs rear. You can reduce understeer or oversteer by stiffening up one and loosening the other. I can't remember which way it goes but thats the idea. Some other ppl on here prob know which way you go but I forgot.

In general, Civics come from the factory tuned for understeer (front wheels slide first). A car that understeers is generally safer than one that oversteers (harder to spin). However, for better performance oriented vehicle dynamics, you want to reduce understeer and promote oversteer (not too much...). This will give you a car that is more willing to turn.
For understeer:
stiffen front dampers/soften rear dampers
or
stiffen front bar/soften rear bar
For oversteer:
soften front dampers/stiffen rear dampers
or
soften front bar/stiffen rear bar
Think of this in terms of lateral load transfer between tires as the car tries to roll. Stiffer bars or dampers will raise the roll moment at that end of the car (making it harder to roll). More load will be transfered to the outside tire (while less load goes to the inside). Eventually, the outside tire will become overloaded and reach its limits of adheasion, and then it slides.
The question is, wich end slides first?
The answer is, wichever end is relatively stiffer.
