Q's about SRS light and Racing Seats
i drive a '02 Si Coupe (Canadian - Si, US - EX) and i changed my front seats and got some Replica Sparcos... the seatbelt bucklet was attached to this rod thingy and i couldnt and prolly not suppose to detach it, so i slide it on the side for the time being til i find out where to attach it too... the screw for the seatbelt buckle wouldnt come off, thats why couldnt attached to the seat...
anyways, now the SRS light stays on... anyone here know why?

SRS light came on for me and was told by the dealership that there are sensors in the chair. They also said that if you set something on the seat, the sensor could mistake the item for a person sitting in the seat without wearing a seatbelt. So, if you messed with the belts, that might be your problem

There are no sensors in the chair. I replaced mine with corbeau and only thing I had to move to the new seat was the seatbelt buckle with rod. The other plugs on the bottom are not attached to the seat at all. No srs light for me.
well... mine got triggered a long time ago... bout a year... i tried the diy i found on this site but gave up ... so i drove untill last week when i took it to the dealership cuz my brakes were making funky sounds... anyways, they said alot of things can trigger it... stickin yer hand under the seat, placing a laptop near the seat... just alot of things can trigger it or interfere with the signal it sends and make it do funky things... so just have the dealer reset it, or you can find the diy on the site... i didnt have enough patience to try it more than once

Well if the light is on, then the airbags don't work if you crash I believe.
For the indiglo, I just got 4 packs of that el string light and wrapped it behind the gauges. They look stock during the day. All the rest of it like needles and dash are all blue radioshack leds.

Knowing honda they'll charge you an hour labor just to spend 10 mins on it. Just take it in for some small work like oil change and when you leave say oh... the srs light came on. They'll have to reset for free
I have honda civic coupe 2002!
My car was involved in a minor accident, the airbags didnt deploy but the light came on, went to the dealers, they reset it and it came on again. went back again and they said the passanger seat belt is faulty. the seat belt costs way too much to replace. Its passanger side anyway, dont really care. But want that annoying light to go out. I was told that there was a sensor connected to a resistor in the seat belt mechanism itself and to make the airbag computer think the seatbelt is ok i need fit a resistor to the two wires connecting to the seatbelt. thing is i dont know what resistor i need! A
nyone know what size resistor is needed?
Anyone know?

My EL has side airbags, so if someone sits in the passenger seat but shifts his weight to the right (against the door) or if he leans forward so his back doesn't contact the back of the seat, then the SRS light comes on in my cluster.
