Which alarm to get??

sup everybody, i am currently in need of a alarm since i have a civic lx, i am considering buying this alarm

http://www.cartoys.com/cartoys/showd...oduct_ID=54255

but isn't sure if it is worth it, my budget is around $100-$275 installed and everything. I looked at Vipers alarm and they had a lot of features for the price of it, but i've heard some bad things about it not going off and stuff. So if the Clifford one isn't good, please list me some that is good for the price. Thanks.

the clifford and viper are supposed to be exactly the same. They are decent alarms, most people will say the best. I got a code-alarm installed on my civic and I know a few people that also have code-alarms. Couldn't be happier with it. Seems to be a very well made alarm.

Clifford and Viper are both made by DEI there's a viper model that's exactly the same as that one though I don't remember which.

I've got a CompuSTAR 2 way alarm (ehhmmm, which Viper/Clifford copied and still have not perfected... LOL, jk)... But I have not had any problems with my CompuSTAR. I got it for $330 installed... Kinda out of your range though... Good luck!!

I've heard some bad things about Viper alarms and how sometimes they don't go off, and some people say that its all show/sound. I can afford to get the best non-Lcd Viper alarm system, but for clifford i have to get a normal and not the top of the line alarm system. So can somebody please give me a suggestion of which i should choose? Thanks.

the viper alarms and clifford alarms are all identical I think. For every viper alarm there is a clifford copy, and vice versa. Both are supposed to be pretty good though, so I mean, for just a basic alarm just pick one. Otherwise find one that has the extra features you want and figure out how much its worth to you and pick one that way. But if you go with Clifford/Viper or CompuStar, or Code-Alarm you'll probably be happy no matter which you get. As long as they're installed properly.

an alarm is all in teh install.

i could install an alarm in a few minutes, but it would suck.

one could also install one and take 6 hours, do a better job
i took 2 days to do mine

Clifford and viper are the same. Viper's will go off just the same as clifford.. AS LONG AS they're installed correctly. whoever you heard that from most likely had a poorly installed alarm.
