Lightbulb Uh Need Advice?

Ok.. So here is the story.
I was driving home from my friend's house around 10:40pm.
As i was going down beach blvd, i was driving at 48-50mph.
Suddenly i noticed there was a cop car behind me, so i drove for next 2 minute and then turned my signal and switched the lane. Soon as i switched my lane, he pulled me over.
So he asked me If i knew how fast i was going. So i told him " i was going between 48-50MPH."
And then he asked me if i knew the speed limit on Beach Blvd.
I told him it was "45MPH"
He also asked me where i was headed.
I told him that i was heading home from my friend's house.
After showing my driver's license and insurance, he told me that my address is different on the driver's license. So i told him that i have moved last November.
After that, he went back to the cop car and starting writing stuff down.
and he came back with ticket saying
1) 22350 Speeding 55MPH
2) 13007 Address change 10 days
3) 27151 (a) Modified exhaust
So now i have to go to court and defend myself from this absurd cop.
I know that i was driving max 50mph, because i constantly check my speed, and I have changed the address with DMV, but i did not write address change on back of my Driver's license. 3rd, he told me that he could hear my muffler from over 50 feet, and told me it was pretty loud. I have RS*R Mag and I know my muffler was not over 95 db.
According to CA Law, 27151 (b), ""For the purposes of exhaust systems installed on motor vehicles with a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating of less than 6,000 pounds, other than motorcycles, a sound level of 95 dbA or
less
, when tested in accordance with Society of Automotive Engineers
Standard J1169 May 1998, complies with this section. Motor vehicle
exhaust systems or parts thereof include, but are not limited to,
nonoriginal exhaust equipment
.""
Im sure that my car, 2004 civic ex coupe, is less than 6,000 lbs, and the RS*R muffler is less than 95 dbA.
So I'm planning to explain this outrageous muffler case at the court, and brg proof of DMV address change and talk to judge about how I was driving 50MPH and i was aware of the Speed Limit.
So I need advice. What can i say to the judge that will turn the favor to my side?
P.S. I'm a POOR college student..

Re: Uh Need Advice?

Also i got a question.
When i go to the court, Do i need to bring factual evidence that proves my muffler is under 95dbs? What other information/facts do i need to bring to the court?
Thanks a bunch guys.

Re: Uh Need Advice?

its gonna be tough to prove you werent speeding. they will believe the cop. so all you can do is ask to see the calibration for whatever he used like laser/radar and how he pulled you over. if he slips up and says it was visual, you win. but you need exhaust proof for sure. im surprised he even pulled you over for rsr. that exhaust pretty much looks like stock compared to other cars exhaust.

Re: Uh Need Advice?

that cop is a clown. after you win the exhaust part of the case maybe the judge will just see that the cop doesnt know what hes doing and give you a break.

Re: Uh Need Advice?

Ok guys.. so there is the result.. I got my exhaust system back to normal thanks to johnbt23, and i got it signed and inspected by the ref station and got it passed. So today, i took it to the Fullerton superior court to ask how much will my ticket drop to. But the clerk said "It seems like officer did not mark it as correctable violation." and i was like WTF... Officer told me that i could fix the muffler and he even checked the "YES" on the correctable violation box. So im really confused now.. I thought 'FIX-IT' mean you can fix it and i dont have to pay fine for it. Well this is getting out of hand, so i asked for change in venue and "Written Declaration". Clerk told me that I cannot change the venue, and written by declaration will be mailed to my house. Plus i thought that when officer pull you over, he must ask me for the Decibel sound of my muffler, but he only said, "It sounded pretty loud"... So i guess i can use that against him too. But again, this is getting out of control and I personally thing most of the cops are just plain dicks. (some cops are actually generous and humane." ...
