How easy is it for someone to get information about someone elses criminal background? I ask this because a girl I work with got into a relationship with another guy who the parents dont like and when she went home the other night, her parents told her that the guy had a pretty bad criminal background and went into detail with her about it, telling her what all he has done. Now her mom wont tell her how she got the info. Isnt it illegal for people to give out someone elses background info?

the only person that can obtain information like that is a law enforcemtn officer or agent or an employer or the person whos checking their own background. whoever said that they found out something about someones criminal background is full of ****.

You need to fill out a form if you're the person who's in question. At least with our department, that's policy. I've had numerous people come to the desk and ask for someone's record. That's confidential, not public record.

well I think it is awfully convienent that her parents didn't like the guy to begin with and suddenly they happen to have this detailed criminal past on the guy making the girl not like him too
