so its a fix it ticket or what, the only tickets you should get are for the HID and maybe header but it depends on what state you are in that makes the biggest difference

yea well thats the risk you take when modifying your car. oh well. i hear LA is the worst out of all areas in the US. If you look in most aftermarket parts ads there is small print about legality issues. Most of those ghey blue bulbs are not street legal, as well as a lot of HID kits. Just because BMW, Mercedes, etc uses them doesnt make it legal, theyre systems have been approved. These make-shift ebay HID kits are not only sh!tty, but not road legal. It sucks, but thats the way it goes. It just depends on where you are and what kind of cop you're dealing with. I had a cop tell me once that my fog lights were "aimed upwards at an illegal angle". riiiight. I said he could give me a ticket but i'd take it and him to court to see the law in person. Needless to say, I was given a warning to re-adjsut the angle, which I later did. Im not saying to argue with cops if you get pulled over for stupid crap like that, cause in most cases you'll still get ticketed, if not wrose. Just know what's supposed to be on your car and what's not and what areas you're driving in police-wise.
I sure wish my car was newer

There is no such thing as a "carp-oe" sticker. However, this is a carb-exempt sticker. I have the exemption stickers under my hood, and the cards for my lights are in my glove compartment. No officer is gonna pull the wool over my eyes.
Many times it doesn't matter if you have the cards or not, if the cop is a big enough ***, he/she will still give you the ticket. I got a ticket for modified header/exhaust on my Civic hatch even though the carb oe number is STAMPED on the header. (good thing he didn't notice my illegal b16 swap
)
Go to court, bring the correct documents, and it will be written off. It's just a pain in the ***.

man that really sux i hope u can get out of it or pay a smaller fine. i guess that cops butt buddy had just cancelled on him or somethign for him to be such an *** about it.
Working in the US Government, I talk to law enforcement officials everyday (cops, analysts, military)... I talked to some people and they said that they'd be more than surprised if you took it to court and didn't beat it.
A lot of times in larger metropolitan areas, an officer can issue you a ticket and not have to worry about being wrong - alot of people would rather just pay the fine and get it over with. But I think you should contend this one.
The only thing he could've really gotten you on is for your anything funky going on in your headlamp assembly (yeah, you know those fancy blue bulbs that say "for off road use" on them? *laughs*) Just make sure you educate yourself as much as possible before you try to contest the ticket.
You need to know what he cited your exact infractions to be and the nature of violations that could possible lead you to $700 in fines - which sounds like a stretch to me.
I honestly couldn't consult with anybody as to what would earn you 700 dollars in fines. A fine over $500 is usually a federal fine... so I'm curious to ask what in the hell you were doing...
What did he pull you over for anyway? You had to do something to get pulled over...
