I can help you out lol.

Aluminum Oil Pan: D17A2 (EX), D17A6 (HX), 1.7L SOHC VTEC

Steel Oil Pan: D17A1 (DX/LX) 1.7L SOHC

Right out of the factory service manual.

Aluminum can readily be welded to aluminum, and steel can be welded to steel. A local welding shop should have no problem with either of the two pans.

we solved the problem. you DO NOT have to weld on the pan anymore. We kick A$$, so we solved the problem.

you still tap the pan, but you insert this fitting, then use 3 bolts and bolt it into the other side of the pan. It sanwiches the pan, then you put silicone inbetween the pan and the fittings. here a lil diagram to give you an idea (hopefully)

Good idead Derek.

It was making 166 whp and 166 ft/lbs @ 6 psi with the stock exhaust and plugs.

When i upgraded the plugs and exhaust, i gained .4 sec on the 1/4 mile.

Lightbulb Turbos Demistified

Beautiful, beautiful work, Catalyst. It's nice to see so many people actually caring about 7th gen Civic. I was getting very discouraged with the lack of info, and this sight is a Godsend. I thank you for your great turbo info as well.

Mad props to ya.

Thanks for the comments!
My whole purpose here is to try to get the right information out to you guys. I do have some fun on this site as well (like my supercharger kit and the BIG upgrade turbo), but thats all to relieve the stress.

If you guys have anything i can help you with, just ask. Even if it isnt about the SF turbo kit.

I switched over to synthetic, then the next week Honda changed my oil back to regular when i had my maintenence. That pissed me off, so i just left it the normal weight.

But if you dont want an SF logo on the intercooler, you dont have to have one. just PM me if you dont want it.

The almost chome looks pretty sweet too. I had that for 2 days before i switched to black chrome. I think i may go to another color now, but i dunno. Actually, i am going to add the air-water setup. That should look good.
