My question is can you swap a D17a2 for a D16y7?

Re: D swap.

depending on local laws, you get in trouble with emissions by putting and engine older than the car
Also, you will need to figure out how to match an distributor engine. ECU might not be compatible with all the pother sensors around the car too
Will you need to change SRS modules also?
etc, etc

Re: D swap.

Not without a ton of work. Plus most likely illegal in your area. Plus it would be a step backwards in terms of power and technology. Either put in another d17a2 or kswap it.

Re: D swap.

I’m jumping in on this thread. I looked at some of the ancient stickies on k swaps into 2001-2004 civics. Has there been any additional parts or advice out out there?

If my 2003 EX has a cracked block I would consider it. Can it be done at home or will it be too much?

Re: D swap.

Hey Colin thanx. That sticky make it look much more complex. Engine direction is different. How do we align those welds properly for the mounts. And is the harness the same?

Re: D swap.

that price tag was back in the day. Not sure if that price tag is the same these days.

Also, Hasport makes a k-swap mount kit for like $600 https://hasportperformance.com/product/esk3/
