Need some advise!
Need some advise!
Sup!
I'm new to the civic world.
I'm pretty knowledgeable about my offroad truck but just got this civic as a daily driver.
It's got about 35k miles on it. it's a stock 2005 LX coupe & it lacks power!
So..... this guy on this forum in the classified adds is selling a just want some feedback on people who have it!
Reliable?
Easy to install?
What kind of HP boost am I going to get out of it?
What's good / not good about it?
would you recommend it?
thanks!

Re: Need some advise!
Installing a...?
Civics, unless its a type R or an Si is going to lack power, and unless you start doing some crazy modifications like an engine swap or a turbo you aren't going to be getting any more than 5 horsepower (some mods actually make you lose horsepower). Just drive it for what it is, if you just use it for a daily driver then just put money in it for gas and regular maintenance. The only exception is an intake since that can actually increase your MPG, among other things.
Anyway, welcome to the forum and read around, there is a gold mine of information to be found here about anything regarding your civic.

Re: Need some advise!
ur civic is designed slow for a reason. you will never make it faster without shelling out BIG money one it (like $4000+ for an DIY engine swap or turbo)
sorry to burst ur bubble.
im not saying it cant be done, because it has. the D17 has hit around 400whp before...but with that kinda money, you could keep the civic and buy a 3rd FAST car.
lol

Re: Need some advise!
you will be spending well over 3-4000$ for around 50-75hp...and you will eventually blow ur motor and will have to have a rebuilt.....which cost more money.
