Re: It begins...
Just an update... I got the whole thing ripped apart. The block is going to the machine shop with the pistons on friday for honing and possibly decking (I dont think it needs it). I'm still waiting for intake valves and my OEM parts from the Majestic Honda (all $677 of it). I have my rods, rings, slugs, cam, retainers, springs, exhaust valves, tools, head studs, etc... Once the block comes back I can notch the sleeves and put this pig back together... Waiting for my new guides and seals, then I can drop the head off at the shop, then all hell shall break loose

Re: It begins...
Cooling system..... eh, its pretty well cooled now, I'll probably end up with a Koyo race radiator just for the hell of it, and on the track I tend to run very little antifreeze and a whole lot of water and water wetter (water absorbs heat better than ethylene glycol), and I already have a big oil cooler, so I think I'm set. I'll probably prop the back of the hood up a tad to clear the hot air out from under the hood, I've heard it helps a lot to just keep air moving under there. I dont anticipate any problems.

Re: It begins...
Enough people said it wasnt necessary to convince me not to.... I started notching one cylinder, then concluded I needed a piston on the rod to center it so I knew how much to take off, so I figured I'd have the walls honed to avoid potentially messing up the new pistons on the old walls.
